Get Lit

Warrnambool Storytelling Festival brings world-class storytellers to the stage with Get Lit, an illuminating and inspiring event sure to spark wonder, ignite thought and kindle connection.

Guests are welcome to purchase tickets to any of the three main sessions, which will see acclaimed authors in conversation with notable local moderators, or a VIP Day Pass for access to all three sessions plus the exclusive Get Lit Lunch.

Discover the meaning behind the music as instrumentalists, singers and songwriters share not just the live performance of their work itself, but the heart that beats within it, in a captivating concert where show and tell converge. Bringing unique artists together to a central theme, Story Songs is an engaging afternoon built for music-lovers, and includes a delicious afternoon tea at intermission, with bar available for Sunday sips.

 What happens when stories wash up on shore? An event of maritime-inspired songs and storytelling that explores our enduring relationship with the ocean. From working harbours to wild seas and personal journeys, this relaxed Sunday session invites audiences to dive into stories shaped by water, wind and time. Thoughtful, entertaining and full of local flavour — come for the stories, stay for the memories.

Writes of Passage

Warrnambool Storytelling Festival switches the POV to YA with Writes of Passage, giving young readers and writers the chance to listen to, chat with, and learn from an acclaimed YA author in a fun, informative and interactive session.

Award-winning, Sunday Times-bestselling fantasy and speculative fiction author Keshe Chow will visit Warrnambool for a special event at Tilly Divine on Monday 6th July, for participants aged 13-21.

Gather Together

On a winter’s night, gather in the cosy glow of Mozart Hall for an evening that honours how gardens grow and how we grow with them. We invite you into the world of Warrnambool Community Garden through stories of soil, seasons, and the people who’ve weathered it all.

A lively panel featuring three generations of gardeners - a founding member, a dedicated volunteer, and a fresh face - will share insights into the garden’s history, its role in community life, and the transformations it’s fostered over nearly 20 years of shared love and labour. Expect honest reflections, laughter, and a few surprises from behind the compost heap.

This free event offers the opportunity for children aged 0-12 to explore stories through a variety of fun and educational workshops and activities, including Auslan-interpreted storytime and guest author sessions.

Writers, take note. Warrnambool Storytelling Festival presents Write On, an entertaining and informative evening featuring a panel of guest speakers, each providing a different perspective and sharing individual experiences on a writing topic of interest.

Insights will be gleaned, ideas will germinate, and connections will be made, both throughout the discussion on stage and in the hour following, where guests are invited to enjoy supper while networking with each other and chatting directly with our panelists.
